Vitamin K Helps Control Warfan Side Effects
Clinical Study Title:
Treatment of warfarin-associated coagulopathy with oral vitamin
K: a randomised controlled trial.
| Plain
English Summary: |
This
study examined the use of vitamin K supplements to
treat coagulopathy associated with warfarin. Participants
already receiving warfarin were given either an additional
daily supplement of vitamin K or a placebo. The international
normalized ratio was measured and compared across
the two groups. Those patients who took the daily
supplement of vitamin K had more improvement in their
international normalized ratio than those taking the
placebo. This suggests that the use of vitamin K with
warfarin can help to control complications of treatment.
